"Mansize are a grunge revival mathy glitch rock band, fronted by Anya Pulver with Rob King on bass. They have worked through a selection of different drummers and are still searching for a permanent one; due to their incredibly difficult timing changes and unpredictable nature.
When you watch Mansize live, the first thing that strikes you is Anya's onstage demeanour. She may be a girl, but when she plays it sounds like Kurt Cobain came back from the dead and learned music theory.
Working very closely with previously featured This Wicked Tongue, they play the scene together well. Both acts quite literally “Tapping” into a massive underground audience that seems to be emerging, of people who are fed up of the usual formulaic sound of less talented bands.
Again and again, Mansize refuse to conform to this 4/4 drudgery; the stabs are original and never where you expect them to be. At one point in the set, Anya allows Rob and the drummer to hold everything together while effortlessly tapping the melody with one hand behind her back and singing in her patented guttural grungy yet ladylike style.
In short this is a band that’s out there changing things for the better. The only way to understand this band is to get out there and go and see them. They will be performing at the Worcester Music Festival on the 21st of August at the Horn and Trumpet with This Wicked Tounge and are not to be missed. No excuses go and see them………… NOW!!!!"
